Best conditions are almost always early morning — 7–9am sessions get the cleanest surf and smallest crowds. Book early slots when you can.
Common questions
What should I bring to my lesson?+
Just yourself in a swimsuit. All boards, leashes, rash guards, wax, and fins are provided. Sunscreen is a good idea — bring reef-safe if you have it. A water bottle and a towel for after.
What if conditions are bad on my lesson day?+
I monitor conditions closely and will contact you 24 hours in advance if we need to reschedule. You'll always have the option to move to another date at no cost, or receive a full refund.
How fit do I need to be?+
You don't need to be athletic. Basic swimming ability (comfortable in waist-deep water) is all that's required. Beginner lessons are designed to be accessible regardless of fitness level.
How old do participants need to be?+
Lessons are available for ages 8 and up. Kids under 16 must have a parent or guardian present and sign the liability waiver. I've taught 8-year-olds and 70-year-olds — everyone can surf.
Can I bring a friend and share a lesson?+
Absolutely. The First Timer group lesson accommodates up to 4 people at the group rate. For private sessions, you can bring one additional person — just mention it when booking and I'll adjust the details.
What's the cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your session. Inside 48 hours, you can reschedule once at no charge. No-shows are non-refundable. Cancellations caused by conditions on my end are always fully refunded.
